ABOUT THE JOB:

The Senior Program Manager of Global Sourcing & Product Development, is responsible for developing and leading global sourcing strategies while overseeing the entire product development lifecycle. This role involves strategic planning, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and ensuring supply continuity with high standards of quality. The Senior Program Manager will drive innovation in sourcing, manage complex programs from concept to completion, and lead efforts in reshoring manufacturing capacity. The role also includes managing product design modifications to meet evolving regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Program Leadership & Execution:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale programs, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure milestones are met.
  • Develop comprehensive program plans with timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies, ensuring alignment with project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with assigned resources from engineering, product management, and other departments to ensure project tasks are completed on time and within scope.
  • Track and report on program progress, risks, and solutions to leadership, stakeholders, and other partners.
  • Facilitate meetings, status reports, and executive reviews to communicate progress and secure input from senior management.

Global Sourcing Strategy:

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with global suppliers to ensure high-quality products at the best possible price.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers across the globe, driving cost savings and mitigating risks through supplier diversification and performance management.
  • Monitor market trends, inflation, and changes in raw material prices to adjust sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast sourcing needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to source from new, high-growth regions to capitalize on cost-saving opportunities or improve service.

Product Development & Engineering Oversight:

  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to ensure product specifications meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive design reviews and manage engineering resources to ensure timely delivery of design modifications to meet evolving building codes.
  • Provide leadership in guiding teams to meet technical, budgetary, and timeline goals, while working within a matrix structure.

Reshoring & Manufacturing Capacity Management:

  • Lead the reshoring initiative, ensuring manufacturing capabilities in new regions match existing suppliers, particularly in terms of structural and mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Oversee the setup and management of quality control processes for newly sourced manufacturers, ensuring consistency in product standards.

Supplier & Contract Management:

  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations to assess performance on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Negotiate long-term agreements and contracts, including pricing, lead times, and service levels.
  • Manage supplier risks, including geopolitical issues, supply chain disruptions, and supplier dependencies.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure all contracts meet compliance and risk mitigation guidelines.

Quality & Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner with the quality assurance team to develop and enforce quality control standards for all sourced materials.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs with suppliers to drive innovation and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers' facilities and processes to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Market Research & Innovation:

  • Perform market research to identify new sourcing opportunities, suppliers, and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead initiatives to improve program efficiency.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • MBA or other advanced degrees preferred.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management experience.
  • 5+ years of direct or vendor leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in leading multi-project programs, including product development and design modification initiatives.
  • Experience with sourcing in manufacturing and construction industries is preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading reshoring or similar initiatives, especially involving structural and mechanical engineering aspects.
  • Experience with sourcing tools and procurement software (SAP preferred).

  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coordinate across departments and with senior leadership.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
