ABOUT THE JOB:
The Commercial Excellence Manager ensures Commercial Excellence process and training consistency across multiple assigned MSAs (Metropolitan Statistical Area) ~30 territories within a Field Division. The Commercial Excellence Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring that all sales team members in the assigned MSAs have the right skills, experience and tools to achieve their performance objectives. This role reports to the Division Commercial leader and VP, Commercial Excellence.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Collaborate with Market Sales Managers and General Managers to exceed achieve the revenue plan for their respective Markets.
- Support Market leadership by providing the sales team with general training as well as targeted skill development specific to market needs. (Sales skills, Process/System, Product, etc.).
- Continuously improve effectiveness and success of sales resources and management, including proactively identifying opportunities for cross-selling and increasing competitiveness in all Markets.
- Assess performance, skills, and competencies of talents through regular individual touchpoints and participation in team meetings (sales management cadence, territory reviews, phone listening, field ride, etc.).
- Create development plan jointly with direct manager and rep. Coach individuals, monitor discipline, and drive improvement.
- Responsible for supporting the adoption of sales tool usage (inc. CRM) and partners with sales management as well as the training team for reinforcement.
- Establish and refine standard operating procedures (SOPââ¬â¢s) for the commercial organization.
- Help identify opportunities for strategic and enterprise sales teams to collaborate with Market Sales
- Managers and General Managers to increase regional and national market presence and penetration.
- Provide recommendations on improvement opportunities related to training/development or Commercial Operations and Enablement. Join leadership in the definition of proper structure and strategy of the Commercial Excellence function.
- Take part in M&A integration workstreams and help the integration process as well as employee/customer transition.
- Participate in the definition, project management, implementation and change management of various company initiatives (system/technology capabilities, process improvement, channel and/or coverage optimization, value drivers, new products, etc.). Strong communication and organizational skills are required to work in a broad and high pace cross-functional environment.
- Conduct business in compliance with all WillScot Safety, Transportation, and Environmental Policies.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
- 5+ years of successful sales management experience with proven results and/or demonstrated high performacne in a support function role with strong exposure to Customer and Lead-to-cash process. Experience in a leasing business, logistics asset/facility management or other construction-related industry is a plus.
- Preferred internal candidates will have demonstrated success in Sales & Account Management, Cross-Function Process & Project Management or other relevant roles in Sales or Operations Management.
- Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, entrepreneurial, time-sensitive, collaborative environment.
- Experience hiring, assessing, coaching, and developing strong team members
- Strong business application skills including MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
- Profiency with Salesforce or other CRM. Capability to pull and analyze data for insights on sales performance. Experience with Tableau, or other reporting tools is a plus.
- The Sales Manager must be able to verbally communicate with employees, co-workers, and customers in person and by phone. This role performe regularly in a construction-like environment and requires the ability to sit, stand, and move about the various work environments to manage the sales team. Lifting or pushing 10-25 pounts is often required.
- Ability to travel ~50% of the time is required. This role is preferred to be located in Phoenix. Orlando or close to any large airport
- A valid driver's license is necessary
