ABOUT THE JOB:

The Corporate Accounting Manager is a full-time in-office position based in our Phoenix, AZ office. This role is an integral member of the WillScot accounting and finance department who provides management of our accounting function, controls processes/environment and corporate accounting teams located in Baltimore, Maryland and Phoenix, Arizona. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting. Key Responsibilities include: month-end close, corporate accruals, team management (approx. 2-4 professionals), SOX controls management/execution, oversight of the reconciliation of various general ledger accounts and participation in systems integrations initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

•    Develop relationships and communicate across all corporate functions
•    Manage accounting processes, including journal entry preparation and approval, reconciliations and month-end close procedures
•    Coordinate with various functions within the Company to ensure accuracy of monthly accruals
•    Lead monthly meetings with IT groups to determine appropriate expense versus capitalization treatment
•    Manage detailed prepaid expense and amortization schedules
•    Oversee payroll accounting function and coordinate with payroll team
•    Properly prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
•    Investigate and resolve or escalate any non-standard GL transactions
•    Identify risks, implement controls, monitor, and maintain proper evidence/documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley or similar requirements.
•    Continually improve business processes through automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching best practices in the industry
•    Prioritize development, training, and mentorship of the G/L team
•    Ensure team/department objectives are met, completely and accurately, regarding deadlines, controls, documentation

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting
•    Minimum of 6+ years of accounting management level experience required, public company and big 4 experience a plus
•    Minimum of 2+ years of Corporate Accounting experience, preferably with a publicly traded company
•    CPA certification is a plus
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Effective oral and written communication skills
•    Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•    Ability to work 5 days per week in-office
•    Demonstrated ability to contribute to a fast-paced, acquisitive, growth company

SYSTEM SKILLS:
 
•    Proficient using Microsoft Office suite, ERPs, consolidation tools and other ad hoc systems used in the accounting process
•    SAP experience preferred
•    Oracle experience preferred
