ABOUT THE JOB:
The Operations Systems Manager is a technical role responsible for configuring, enhancing, maintaining and optimizing the Willscot Salesforce platform with a focus on field service operations, routing efficiency and logistics workflow. This role supports Ops Excellence initiatives and the teams impacted by Salesforce Field Service (FSL) and Field Service Lightning Apps, primarily in the areas of routing automations, process workflows and the ability to meet operational goals.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Logistics and Routing Operations
- Support and improve logistics workflows, including pick-up/drop-off (PUDO), route planning, inventory movement, and SLA tracking.
- Collaborate with Ops and Logistics leadership and dispatchers to fine-tune automated scheduling logic for cost-effective and timely field visits.
- Manage skill-based routing, travel time rules, and geolocation settings for optimized truck utilization.
FSL Support & Administration
- Maintain Service Territories, Service Resources, Skills, Operating Hours, and Capacity Plans.
- Configure and optimize Scheduling Policies, Work Rules, and Objectives for automated routing and dispatch.
- Support and troubleshoot FSL Mobile usage for technicians and delivery drivers.
- Ensure smooth operation of the Gantt view, Appointment Booking, and auto-dispatching logic.
- Maintain data model: objects, fields, page layouts, Lightning record pages, validation rules, and flows.
- Support mobile and desktop users across logistics, customer service, and operations departments.
- Ensure integrations between Salesforce and SAP are functioning correctly
- Salesforce Releases – Champion continuous improvement by staying ahead of Salesforce platform updates and emerging technologies, ensuring that any potential issues are mitigated and that the platform remains stable and fully functional prior to release date
Optimization Modeling
- Requirements gathering and business analysis
- Map routes and workflows, collaborate to help define optimization goals and identify potential constraints
- Define optimization engine modeling that provide scenarios, simulations and policy adjustments to define best optimization routines
- Test, validate and drive iterative improvements
- Deploy improvements
Change Management
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.
- Collaborates with business leaders on communication plans to impacted users
- Work with stakeholders to identify training content and trainers.
- Coordinates and communicates end user training
- Develops post project KPIs measuring project adoption and business continuity to ensure success of specific projects
Data Integrity and Reporting:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective report designs.
- Perform regular data audits and support data cleanup across Work Orders, Service Appointments, and Inventory records.
- Build logistics-specific dashboards and reports (e.g., first-time fix rate, route efficiency, arrival punctuality).
- Monitor job assignment metrics, scheduling compliance, and technician utilization.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s degree is a plus.)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience with logistics optimization management with at least 3–5 years of Salesforce Administration experience, including Field Service (FSL)
- Prior experience with implementing and administering route optimization tools
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of logistics, dispatch, or field service operations.
- Experience configuring Scheduling Policies, Service Territories, Skills, and the Gantt Scheduler.
- Ability to work in Agile or cross-functional project environments.
- Familiarity with mobile workforce tools and logistics inventory management.
- Strong reporting and flow-building skills.
Certifications:
- Salesforce Administrator or Business Analyst certification preferred
