ABOUT THE JOB:
Primary duties involve supporting the front-end pre-construction phases of our custom complex construction projects interacting with customers and prospects, with our sales team, to present capabilities and develop scopes of work and participating in bid/proposal development, deal structuring and approval from a technical and feasibility perspective, preparing estimates from RFPs, preparing the technical package and establishing project budgets. Forward facing role interacting heavily with the Willscot sales team, customers and the construction services team.
Secondary duties involve performing project management on projects once awarded. Project Management involves internal and external stakeholder management; scope clarification and fulfilment, schedule generation, management, and updating; and budget management and margin fulfillment. Weekly calls (internal and external), weekly reports, site visits, vendor selection and PO generation, stakeholder coordination, unit delivery, and project completion and turnover.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Customer Service
- Communicating Willscot capabilities
- Selling the modular solution and benefits and educating the customer
- Qualifying the opportunity through direct communication with the Customer & clear understanding of project requirements
- Assembling project information and developing project program requirements
- Reviewing proposed site, existing conditions/utilities and physical restrictions
- Generating and monitoring schedule, fulfilling budget and scope expectations as laid out in proposal stage
- Successfully executing project delivery, handoff, and turnover
Sales Support
- Providing VALUE by elevating the technical credibility of Willscot
- Assisting the sales team in qualifying the Customer and opportunity
- Minimizing business risk through accurate assessment of project feasibility
- Providing general technical assistance and support: training and mentoring when needed
- Maintaining constant dialogue with regards to market/industry trends, customers and new opportunities
- Constantly communicating status on bids/proposals in progress, technical deal structuring and customer interaction
Technical Support
- Reviewing and qualifying bid/RFP documents
- Reviewing blueprints and specifications, and performing take offs
- Ensuring CS representations in pre-bid meetings and job walks
- Participating in prebid meetings/job walks/and subcontractor qualifications
- Developing project strategy and “Win Factors”
- Technically structure the deal and identify cost efficient ways to provide the Customer with an optimum solution
- Ensure Go/No Go reviews are scheduled on every project that is equal to or larger than (4) units
- Offering value added product and service solutions, i.e. site services
- Investigating state and local building codes and regulations
- Developing project scope of work
- Managing vendor and subcontractor selection including qualifying A/E firms
- Reviewing all subcontractor RFQs as solicited by vendors
- Developing the project baseline estimate
- Assembling the Technical Package and conducting internal reviews
- Delivering Technical to Sales Rep and communicating strategies
- Developing milestone project schedule; working with the SPM to develop elaborate and detailed project schedules
- Developing the project budget in Mission Control
- Obtaining hard-costs from selected vendors and subcontractors at win
- Scheduling Project Kick-off Reviews with the project team following award
- Communicating regional bid activity on a weekly basis to the regional and corporate teams
- Monitoring pre-construction progress including but not limited to preliminary and final drawings, proposal writing and submittal to the customer
- Maintaining Mission Control up to date and enforcing accountability measures on all front-end (bid activity) reporting
- Conducting Post Mortem reviews to evaluate lost opportunities
- Managing internal and external stakeholders from award through project completion, including selection and management of installation and transportation vendors (and/or in-house crews), weekly meetings (internal and external), weekly reports, PO generation, budget and scope management, schedule creation and management, and project execution, delivery, and turnover.
- Maintaining CS process and SOP
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has a Bachelor's degree (construction or engineering preference) and 3 years of experience estimating projects
- OR a high school degree and 5 years of estimating experience
- Modular experience STRONGLY preferred
- Can perform effective blueprint take-offs
- Can delineate subcontractor scopes of work
- Is proficient in MS Project or other construction scheduling software
- Can effectively use construction management/project management software
- Has customer service and sales presentation skills to assist Sales Managers in closing deals
- Including proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint
- Must have very strong - exceptional MS Excel skills
- A solid background in building trades and/or site development
- Strong attention to detail and company processes and procedures
- Able to travel (up to 20%), perform site visits, site management, interpret plans and read plans, ensure vendor
